Vladislav Masalov Appointed SCAC President
Vladislav Masalov was appointed the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) President on February, 22 2017. He follows Kamil Gaynutdinov as head of the company who is to become SCAC Vice-President for the After Sales Support.
The management change was initiated by the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), SCAC being its affiliated company, as part of its corporate structure transformation launched in December 2016. The target model envisages step-by-step change resulting in a single company integrating four divisions responsible for civil, military, cargo and special purpose aircraft.
Taking into consideration all mentioned above, the UAC started the civil division arrangement procedure. The UAC strategy states 45% of its portfolio to be civil aircraft production, so civil aircraft positioning for foreign markets, with State Defense Procurement decrease as planned, becomes key priority.
The UAC Civil Division is to manage all civil programs which are – SSJ100, MC-21, Il-114, the wide body long range aircraft (C929 – Chinese abbreviation). Sales and After Sales Support to be first and foremost.
Vladislav Masalov task is now to create a company with SCAC as a core integrating all the expertise and technology acquired during the leading Russian civil aircraft design and development process.
On the one hand, such approach allows to increase business operation efficiency at all stages of the aircraft life cycle and to cut the expenses as the result of management centralization, including coordinated contract fulfillment as far as the new aircraft creation is concerned.
On the other hand, this new strategy will increase the manageability by the leading company – the UAC – and will form ‘pass-through’ sales, certification and after-sales support functions concentrating at one Customer Support Center for all civil programs.
Since October 2015 Vladislav Masalov has been the Vice-President for Civil Aviation for United Aircraft Corporation. In 2012 – 2015 he was the President of the United Engine Corporation, one of its subdivisions participates it SSJ100 engine production.
